Oesophageal Atresia/Tracheoesophageal fistula repair is the most difficult and complicated surgery in a newborn with very high complication and mortality rate. By God’s grace we are discharging today a newborn with this condition, operated and managed successfully by excellent Pediatric Surgeon, Pediatrician, Anesthesia team and of course one of the best NICU Nursing team.
The baby girl was born before 9 months i.e. 27 weeks of pregnancy having weight 770gm only. She was not an IVF baby. Parents already had one healthy son and they are not from a very financially rich background. Yet the parents stood outside the NICU and trusted us. After a long period of 2 months the baby was discharge at weight 1.34 kg.
