Entry Techniques

  • Veress needle
  • Hasson technique
  • Palmer’s point
  • Direct entry technique
  • Ability to perform safe entry techniques
  • Safe use of appropriate energy source
  • Should understand the principles of electrosurgery, laser modalities, beam coagulators, ultrasound, and other emerging energy sources.
  • Ability to safely perform procedures with a thorough understanding of the safety checks required before activating the energy source.
  • Troubleshooting

 

  • Ability to competently suture pedicles using laparoscopic needle holders
  • Ability to undertake intracorporeal and extracorporeal knot tying
  • Endo trainer sessions for mastrering suturing
  • Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy and the ability to undertake a total laparoscopic hysterectomy using a recognized technique and an understanding of suitable alternatives

 

  • Ability to Manage Haemorrhage and Initial Treatment of Damage to Adjacent Viscera
  • Recognition of late complications
  • Initiation of immediate treatment and summoning the appropriate help.

 

  • Laparoscopic Myomectomy and to undertake the excision of subserous intramural and broad ligament fibroids.
  • Ability to excise myomas
  • To suture the defect
  • To deal with haemorrhage from the uterine serosa and myometrium

 

  • Endometriosis
  • To excise superficial an deep endometriosis overlying pelvic structures, bowel and the pelvic sidewall using the appropriate instruments and energy sources
  • To recognize and undertake immediate management of complications, summoning appropriate specialist help as necessary

 

  • Prolapse, Pelvic Floor. Defects
  • Use of mesh in suspension surgeries

 

  • Vaginal agencies and other obstructive Mullerian anomalies
  • Laparoscopic Neovagina creation
  • Recognition and management of various Mullerian pathologies
  • Benign Ovarian tumors, Tubal surgeries
  • Tackling different types and sizes of ovarian tumors, retrieval without spillage of contents

 

  • Specimen retrieval techniques
  • The use of morcellator, undertaking posterior colpotomy and trans abdominal and trans vaginal removal of tissue using tissue retrieval bags.

 

  • Tests for bladder and bowel integrity
  • To perform visual inspection of bowel, out air insufflations nad dye tests.
  • To check integrity of bladder using visual inspection and dye tests. To visually check the ureter through its pelvic course.

 

  • Hysteroscopic Surgeries
  • Submucous fibroid removal,
  • Asherman’s syndrome,
  • Trance cervical resection of Endometrium (TCRE)
