Radiation Oncology

Cancer cells divide continuously, unlike the healthy tissues these cells cannot repair/stop growing or dividing on their own. Radiation therapy affects the cancer cells by damaging their genetic material. It uses electron and photon beams to treat the cancer.

At Aadhar Hospital’s Radiation Oncology Department, is equipped with linear accelerator -Varian Truebeam and Brachytherapy SagiNova HDR machine .We have a team of experienced professionals dedicated to providing the highest standard of care.

Our goal is to create a comfortable and supportive environment for patients undergoing radiation therapy, while also optimizing treatment precision and effectiveness. With personalized care and compassionate support, we aim to provide the best possible outcomes for our patients.

At Aadhar Hospital’s Department of Radiation Oncology, we are delivering high standard of care, using latest technology and providing personalized treatment plan to meet each patient need.

Conditions We Treat:
  • Brain and spinal tumors
  • Lung cancer
  • Prostate cancer
  • Breast cancer
  • Head and neck cancers
  • Gastrointestinal cancers
  • Gynecological cancers
  • Lymphomas
  • Soft Tissue Sarcomas, bone tumors
  • Benign Conditions and more
  • EBRT: In EBRT, machine called linear accelerator delivers radiation beam externally to targeted area of body where tumor is located.
  • Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT):Advanced, highly precise radiation for small & metastatic tumors.
  • Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT):Real-time imaging to precisely target tumors and minimize healthy tissue exposure.
  • Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT):IMRT uses a machine to send multiple energy beams of varying strengths to a tumor, reducing the side effects
  • Electron Beam Therapy: Electron beam radiotherapy uses high-energy electrons to treat superficial cancers, primarily those located near the skin surface.
  • Palliative Radiation Therapy:Providing symptom relief for patients with advanced cancer or metastasis to other organs like bones, brain etc.
  • Brachytherapy (Internal Radiation): Brachytherapy is a vital component of our comprehensive radiation oncology services at Aadhar. With this technique, we deliver radiation directly to the tumor site by placing radioactive sources inside or close to the tumor. This allows for high doses of radiation to be delivered precisely to the affected area while minimizing exposure to surrounding healthy tissue. Whether used alone or in combination with other treatments, brachytherapy offers a targeted approach to cancer treatment, improving outcomes and quality of life for our patients.

We are equipped with latest technology, which can precisely target tumors and minimize damage to healthy tissue.

  • Truebeam Model SVC with FFF
Deliver precise dosage quickly and give patients their time back—the Truebeam radiotherapy system is built with human needs in mind. It consists micro MLC for better modulation of radiation beams.
  • SagiNova Brachytherapy version 2.2
The SagiNova HDR afterloader is designed to address today´s needs for HDR brachytherapy applications regarding safety, clinical goals.
  • PET /MRI Based Planning
By incorporating Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scans and MRI scans into the treatment planning process, we are able to precisely delineate tumor boundaries and identify areas of active disease.
